Date for your diary - Saturday 27th August 2011 - the twelfth year the event has run.

The Rib-Eye Shoot began in 1999 as a fund raising initiative for the Gloucestershire branch of the Countryside Alliance. Devised by Mike Mitchell and Ross Campbell Hill as a fun clay pigeon shoot followed by an excellent steak lunch and an auction it continues this successful theme and is now in it’s 9th year. The first shoot was held at Chavenage on a very wet and windy day in April 1999 but the date has since changed to August and has been hosted in turn by Joe Bullman at Avening and Jane Rook at Beverston. For the past 3 years we have been at Trull Farm as guests of Mike Mitchell. The organising committee has since grown to include James Gouriet, Charles Ponting and Tony Holdsworth who along with Mike and Ross give a lot of their time towards this event. The shoot has become a very popular event in the local calendar and is well supported by a wide range of participants and businesses. The committee particularly like to encourage the young by offering half price tickets for those aged 17 and under. The aim of the day is to raise funds for the Countryside Alliance to help protect our sport. Funds are raised through ticket sales, a live auction and business sponsorship. As event costs increase we very much rely on the generosity of auction donations and business sponsorship. If you can help in any way, either with a suitable Lot or with some sponsorship to promote your business and at the same time provide some funds to the Countryside Alliance please contact Mike Mitchell or any of the Committee.
We are also very lucky to have a few very generous sponsors who help us to cover some of the fixed costs. A large thank you must go to all the above.
